Need to Meet, 2006

Hapar, spring, 2006
Lyndon is 51, Nicole is 49 (Anthony Wren is 25; Faith Humphrey is 22; Susie MacAstral is 20; Walter (Walt/Walli) Jones is 23)

Daniels Landing was finally ready to move in and the Lyndon and Nicole Humphrey couldn't be happier.

They loved the enhanced view and new plantings.

"It's almost like a musuem," Nicole commented.

Lyndon had to agree as they took in the sight of the famous lighthouse.

The new layout meant a few changes in terms of furniture, but the couple didn't mind too much. They were enjoying their semi-retirement.

Lyndon's flexible hours as the pastor and private counselor along with Nicole's part-time job with the academy left plenty of time for sweet romancing. The couple prided themselves on the fact that they still had a passionate love for each other that rivaled lovers much younger than them.

"We should invite the girls over. I miss them," Nicole breathed after being released from Lyndon's embrace.

"Sure, but I sincerly hope that my kiss didn't make you think of the kids."

---
Nicole loved her children and enjoyed spending time with them. She wished Harvis was closer, but she knew that he was getting a better education in Riverdale. At least Faith and Susie were nearby.
"You still haven't decided on a wedding date."
"I'm in no rush." Susie defended herself.

"Don't wait too long, you don't want the passion to burn out."

"I doubt that would happen."

Anthony just smiled and took in the scene around him. His own family was scattered across the globe so he didn't get a chance to see them that often. He called his mother in Kimikura and told her the news as well as his father in Kono Island. They were both excited for him and anxious to meet Susie. He laughed to himself as he remembered his father asking if Susie was pregnant. She wasn't, there was a slight scare this past winter but it was quickly resolved. He glanced at Faith's growing belly and wondered how Susie would look swollen with their child.

"What's for dinner?" Susie asked joining Anthony on the sofa.

"I'll take that as my hint to get started," Lyndon said retreating from the room into the kitchen.

The remaining members of the family listened as Faith picked out a tune on the piano.

"I miss having you play in the house," Nicole said to her daughter while Susie explained to Anthony that Faith had a record deal for her violin skills when she was younger.

"Dinner's ready!" Lyndon called.

"Congratulations again," Faith said to Anthony. "Just make sure to keep everything wrapped up, Susie wouldn't want to look like a beach ball dancing on stage anytime soon."

"So when will we meet this Walt?" Nicole asked, changing the topic.

"Um...I guess soon."

"How about you bring him to the house this simweekend."

"This simweekend?"

"Yes, Susie and Anthony, you come as well. We need to meet this young man."

"Ok,"

"Great, we should be done with the living room by that time. I'm so happy that we found such great deals on the internet."

---

After the children left, Lyndon and Nicole settled back into their routine. Breakfasts in their underwear talking about their past and future.

"Do you remember the letter you sent my parents when we were dating?"

"A bit..."Lyndon hedged.

"I found it in a box, here." She said sliding the aged letter across the table.

My name is Lyndon Pierce. I am a descendant of the Pierce family of Apple Valley, one of the richest families in the hood. My great-great-grandfather started a repair service business that still serves all of SimCity as well as founded SSU-Apple Valley. My family can count three mayors, a dean, two soap-opera writers, one actress, one model, one business tycoon and a MVP to its linage. More of my family history and information about Apple Valley can be found on our archived website (http://www.geocities.com/starrsim)

Unfortunately I do not have the privelage of meeting with you due to the island's recent closure of its borders. I love your daughter very much. She is the most beautiful, intelligent and loving woman a man could ever ask for. She has very strong values and care and concern for her family, which I thank you very much for teaching her such values. I can not imagine spending my life with anyone else but her. I would like to ask her to marry me and I am writing today to ask you for your blessing.

I promise to care for her with all of my heart and I will cherish her with the utmost respect. I know that she has dreams of acting and I plan on fully supporting her. I plan on providing for her financially, emotionally, physically and spiritually. I have recently brought a very spacious loft downtown and I have a steady job in the city.

I anxiously await your response.
Respectfully Yours
Lyndon Pierce

"I still mean every word of it," he said smiling across the table.
That afternoon they spent time playing the piano and catching up on reading. Nicole thought back to her former dreams of stardom and her prior career as a broadway actress and being featured in STAR magazine. She had been friends with many famous sims including Starr Grey and Alia Kent. Well, perhaps friend is overstating it. They did hire her to their new production company Starrents's first production "Missing Heaven".

Her closest friends were Tatiana Garris-Vanderburg of Pahala Shore fame and Amata Forrester-Miller of Places in the SUN fame. They met due to their work in the industry and she still kept in contact with them now. They still had anti-aging waviers thanks to their international work, but Nicole was still trying to convince them to move back to Apple Valley.

Nicole was reading the paper when Lyndon got the phone call that rainy afternoon.

"Really? That would be wonderful...yes, I accept."

"Accept what?" she asked after he hung up the phone.

The academy wants me to come in once a simweek to counsel the children. It will probably be short-term, maybe for this semester only considering what happened with that young boy."

"Ahh..."

The simweekend arrived a bit too quickly for Faith. Walt had agreed to meet the family, she doubted that he would deny her mother's request since he had been asking to meet her family as well. Susie tried to pay attention as Anthony discussed the latest article published concerning his role in the development of the Plumbbob Virus vaccine.

When Walt arrived, Susie tried not to faint, scream or both. She recognized the man from her spring break trip, he was guy #2 that she woohooed with, but he called himself Walli then, not Walt. Thankfully, things had changed since then and she was happy with Anthony. Walli, or Walt, couldn't hold a candle to her fiance.

Walt had recognized Susie as well and assumed that she might be a friend of Faith's, but when he overheard the two women talking, he knew that they were foster sisters. Susie didn't acknowledge him, so he did the same. However seeing her again brought up all those old feelings from the island. After that fateful night, he moved on to the next island but he always remembered the raven haired beauty with the empty eyes.

Her eyes were not as empty as they were then, she didn't seem to be searching for something. Maybe the guy sitting next to her had something to do with it. Either way, Walt knew that things would be a bit awkward because like it or not he was still attracted to her...even more than he was attracted to Faith, the woman who carried his child. And that was always a recipe for trouble.

  • Walt certainly remember Susie and vice versa, in fact there was a queue for them to kiss but thankfully Lyndon stopped that by engaged Walt in conversation and Anthony took Susie upstairs for a little woohoo.

  1. Oh, awkward! I'm glad meeting the family happened without too much drama but I have a feeling this might crop up again somewhere down the track. :\

I also wanted to say I like Susie's new look - it's a good style for her.

  2. Uh-oh! Definitely awkward. It's lucky that Lyndon and Anthony distracted the two of them, but how long can Walt and Susie keep this secret?

And Lyndon's letter to Nicole's parents was so sweet. :)

  3. Oh my goodness! I'm glad that Susie went upstairs and they didn't kiss, can you imagine that?!

I hope they are able to stay focused on their respective partners.

I really like Lyndon and Nicole together, and their family.

  4. I LOVE reading about all the rich history you have on your Sims! Years of playing this hood and developing its history, needs to be read and enjoyed by your readers. *smiles* Probably means a lot to me because I know of all these Sims and publications you speak of.

    I echo Carla's sentiments...Can we say, "Awkward!?!"

To begin with, I am floored that Faith hooked up with Susie's 'jumpoff' as the kids say these days...it's wonderful that it turned out as calmly as it did. But, I'm sure this is not the end of it. Walt says he's even more attracted to Susie than he is to Faith! And what about sibling rivalry?! Oh my gosh, these two sisters might be at each others' throats!

Faith looks just like Nicole, just lighter. I never noticed that before. Yeah, Lyndon and Nicole are perfect together. I love them as a couple, too. (can't wait to see the new livingroom.)

  5. -Carla, thanks. Susie is kind of hard to find hairstyles for, her forehead tends to crop into a lot of them. I have a feeling that you may be right about Walt. I don't think Anthony would be too keen on the idea of Walt encroaching on his lady.

-Shana, Lyndon's letter was actually sent to Nicole's hood when they were courting back in ~2006. I found it in my email archives, one of the good things about FSBS hoods.

-Maisie, I'll be curious to see how things go. Walt's ACR with Susie is higher than with Faith, but he doesn't roll any wants for Susie. Susie still struggles with her porno fantasies.

-SH, the funny thing about those two is that they have shared two guys now without both of them knowing about it. I think Faith actually snagged Walt first at some party-but then Faith has snagged quite a few sims. I doubt any rivalry since Faith doesn't have the same feelings for Walt that he has for her-Faith's party days are behind her now. Yea-Faith should look like Nicole since the ancient simmer secret is that Faith is biologically Nicole and Lyndon's child (http://applevalleyblogs.blogspot.com/2009/04/strange-things-are-happening.html)
