School's Out for Summer!

The final days of school were very hectic. The children were restless and excited knowing that summer was almost here. All except the Sweeny triplets, they had just started and never wanted to leave school.

This SimLonic month, the two seniors are graduating. Susie and Harvis arrive early to get photos taken.

"Why is he so far away?" Susie wondered while giving her best smile.

"Welcome to the class of 2004's high school graduation," Johan tells the crowd. There are quite a few sims in attendence, he didn't expect that since there are only two graduating seniors.

"Finally, I want to wish all the seniors the best as they embark on furthering thier education." Johan concludes the short speech.

Harvis MacAstral graduated with a A and is attending the University of Riverdale to study physics with five scholarships.

Susie MacAstral graduated with a B- and is headed to Pierce University to study dance with three scholarships.

The family takes photos afterwards, basking in the glow that finally they were finally empty nesters and could move to that cute little apartment with a view.

Congratulations Harvis and Susie!

How do you celebrate graduations in your hood? Do students graduate from kindergarten, elementary, junior high and high school? Are there lavish ceremonies or small parties?
If you're a FSBS hood, how do you decide if your sim stays in your hood for university or studies in another hood?

  1. So Harvis is off to Riverdale, eh? He's like a world traveller, isn't he?

So far, I haven't celebrated graduations in my hood at all. I've done a couple of uni graduation parties but nothing else. If I can get my hands on a teen cap and gown, I'd do at least graduation portraits for high school graduation. No luck so far though!

  2. Well, everyone knows how I celebrate! LOL I was made, when I did the update for the 2010 graduation I forgot the pic of all the family meembers sitting in the crowed. *sigh* Sadly, there won't be a prom again for at least two years.

As for graduating from Kindergarten, I haven't made much fan fair of it. I guess because... I don't know. LOL

I might make a big deal of graduating 6th grade when there's more students.

Sullivan, I found a cap and gown for teens a while ago. When I finally went to download it the site that I found it at had taken it down. :(

  3. Congratulations to the graduates!

I haven't celebrated high school graduations yet, but I've been planning to start doing it when Madison Craig and Anna Sutton graduate. The only thing is, after George Tang graduates two years later, there will be a huge gap before the next set of kids is old enough to graduate. :(

I have these caps and gowns downloaded: Teen male robes, teen female robes, and caps can be found on this site in the free hair meshes, on pages 8 and 9. (If you're on Firefox like me, you'll have to switch to Internet Explorer because the drop down menu on that site for the free downloads doesn't seem to work in Firefox.)

  4. -Sullivan, Harvis felt that he would be free of his foster father's restrictions on a telescope should he go to the University of Riverdale, Susie is pretty happy to be free of her annoying brother and his constant chatter about thier alien ancestors. I too would love cap and gowns for teens.

-Riverdale, I haven't had a prom in ages! Not since Tobi and Fiona were teens. There hasn't been enough of a population, maybe in a couple of simyear :\

  5. -Shana, thanks for the links to the caps and gowns. Apple Valley has huge gaps in the children's ages as well. Maybe I will start including townies...which means I actually need some townies.

  6. I am planning a graduation for my senior class. I hope that it turns out ok; I'm really excited about it. We all know how unpredictable things can be in-game, so I hope it goes smoothly, like I envision it in my head. LOL!

I'm down to 3 graduating students, from 4...one of my students decided to graduate early and leave for the University of Riverdale. *cough-cough..Marchon...cough*
